SONIC
Back with new moves, including the LS Dash, Sonic's new grinding shoes look to give SA2 a whole new, highly complex, gameplay interface. I wouldn't count on Sonic staying a fugitive for long; recalling how SA's storyline changed every level.

SHADOW
Little is known about Shadows moves, one can only assume that they are similar to Sonic's. But Shadow is different because of his hover-shoes. Maybe Sonic Team will commentate on their next batch of screens explaining Shadow's moves. (Probably not)

KNUCKLES
Once an enemy of the intrepid hedgehog, Knuckles has yet to show himself a friend to Sonic and Tails. His moves include: An uppercut, (a very powerful tool it looks like) the Glide, the Dig, the climb, and looks as if Knuckles can swim. In SA2 Knuckles' storyline appears to require the finding of the master emerald pieces...
again.

ROUGE
Little is known about Rouge, though her moves do make a nice comparison to Knuckles. She is able to fly, climb, and probably a nice punching type move. Voicing my thoughts it looks like Rouge may be the reason Knuckles is on another treasure hunt. Hey, it keeps him busy.

TAILS
The fox was feared not to be in the game, but to everyone's relief, tails was proven playable in the screenshots that followed MONTHS after. Tails used his genius engineering skills to take squandered scrap metal,(the tornado 2), and turn it into a very cool, robotic, piloted walker. E-102 style moves are what Tails favors.

EGGMAN
After all the years, all of the madness, all of the waisted adventures that were given life because of this maniacal menace, you can actually be Eggman. And what's better than a Gamma style interface? Tails' rival has the lock-on missiles (or lasers) that will eliminate hundreds of enemies in a matter of minutes. But why is gun after Eggman? Illeagal acts? Sonic team wont spoil it that much!

OMOCHAO
Much like Tikal, this metalic chao helps you out throughout the game in times of need. The great thing about him is that he's portable! It looks like you must access him first before using him, though.
